Our Story

During COVID the closure of the social and religious institutions and resultant dramatic isolation took a heavy toll on the already fragile human psychology and led to the second pandemic of mental illness. As parents, friends and colleagues we decided to do something about the vulnerability to mental problems because to us it is an issue that runs very deep due to current teaching methods, approach to life, nature and the cosmos. We decided to focus on certain reasons that may be perpetuating the problem. These not only include social media, but other aspects of hidden metaphysical values in educational institutions. In summary we are not preparing our future generations to face the realities of life.

Our Story

In this age of rapidly changing circumstances and all aspects of life and and a breakdown of support structures humans have been experiencing unprecedented despair and anxiety. Even the prophets of this era are predicting a future a that is dystopian at best and disastrous at worst. The Quran and sunnah still provides gems and gleams that we can build our hopes and aspirations on. The teaching can serve a strong ground on which ot build the best that this time brings and resist the potential cataclysms that can be felt approaching from the future even though not clearly here yet. Recent technological events like advances in AI, and robotics and deterioration of the geopolitical order confirm our concerns and need for a solution.

The modern Muslim experience is multifaceted – filled with both extraordinary opportunities and profound challenges. Not only does Muslim thought provide a broad experience multiple epistemologies and approaching the same problems using various angles that allow us to see if we can come up with better solutions than that are being offered to the. Current inadequate solutions make it increasingly important that we look back into our tradition and see what has to offer. If that is clearly not the option, then we may end up in a society where there is only technology and no soul.

We aim to be part of the solution and not the problem.

Our vision is to look at solutions as a tripartite model. The most important thing that we feel that needs to be instilled is a strong feeling of hope. However it can be only strong if its is based in reality and ultimate truths. With the considerable questioning of the ‘Truth’, religious teachings, scriptures people only depend on feelings to guide them and peg themselves. Our vision is to build this kind of hope, ground it and to look forward and beyond to see what directions open.
